Police: Sunken ATV reported stolen

The operator of an all-terrain vehicle that broke through the ice and sank in the Kennebec River in Gardiner last week is facing charges because the ATV had been reported stolen.

Police say ATV river crash victim gave false name

GARDINER — A man gave authorities a false name after he after he and two other men on all-terrain vehicles fell into the Kennebec River late Tuesday night and he was hospitalized for hypothermia.
